VARIOUS WORKSHOP TITLES AND BRIEF DESCRIPTIONS (Descriptions are geared for five-day workshops but can be modified for 3 or 4 day workshops)
FLOWERS AND PORTRAITS IN WATERCOLOR 5-Days Day one and two: Using floral set-ups in studio as inspiration, students will learn to experience a looser and more spontaneous application of paint through a series of “fun” exercises. Goals will include “finding” new colors and designing in a more “intuitive” and expressive manner.
Day three, four and five: Through a series of “fun” exercises in drawing and painting, students quickly learn confidence in approaching the portrait. Students can bring their own photographs to work from – and I will also have available photos so that they can know what to look for and use if they prefer. Workshop is fast-moving and includes many demos for students interweaving with class instruction individual help and critiques.

Demos will flow throughout the workshop, as well as class instruction, individual help and critiques.
THE PORTRAIT IN WATERCOLOR 5-Days This dynamic workshop can be with live models or photos or a combination of both. Students will experience a more natural and intuitive approach to the portrait and figure. The first day, will focus on many exercises, including some drawing – gesture and contour so that students can “connect” in a more expressive manner. Workshop is designed to give students more excitement, energy and confidence when painting the portrait or figure. Exercises are geared to simplify this approach. Students are usually very surprised how quickly they can produce an exciting painting.
